SBFM Library

The South Berkshire Friends Meeting (SBFM) Library includes well over 500 books, and tapes and videos, in its collection of spiritual, religious, Quaker and social activist works.

Books include several versions of the Bible, different editions of the Quaker “Faith and Practice – New England Yearly Meeting,” many works by long-time SBFM attender Walter Wink. An American biblical scholar, theologian, and peace and social justice activist, Wink was also an important figure in the Progressive Christianity movement. New additions to the library’s collection include “The Bonhoeffer Reader Anthology,” “The Chalice and The Blade” by Riane Eisler; and “Full Body Burden – Growing up in the Nuclear Shadow of Rocky Flats,” by Kristin Iverson.

The SBFM Library is open Sundays, 10am to 12noon and is a “self-help” process. Books are signed out by the borrower and signed in upon return. Appointments can be made to meet a librarian at the Meeting House at other times by calling 413-528-5131 or e-mailing
