All Are Welcome — Please Join Us

The South Berkshire Friends Meeting meets Sundays from 10:30am to 11:30am for one hour of worship together. There is no leader, and there is no dogma attached to a Quaker Meeting. We welcome anyone who would like to sit with us on Sunday mornings with expectant meditation and worship sharing by those who feel led by God/Greater Good to speak.

Worship is a special time away from worldly concerns, in which we seek, often in silence, Divine guidance, encouragement, to learn God’s will, and gain deeper awareness of what Friends have called the Inner Light, “that of God in every one” for the past three centuries.

In the expectant stillness there may come to one or another of us a message that he or she feels compelled to share with all. The message may be spoken out of meditation in Meeting, a personal insight, a concern previously pondered, an upwelling of the spirit, a soul’s cry for understanding or other.

Quaker “silence” is a disciplined and contemplative openness to personally receiving the spirit of God. The Meeting asks that attendees listen attentively, both to the remarkable harmony of the silent waiting and to the ministry of the spoken word which may arise from the silence.

Great Barrington's Quaker Meeting welcomes all to join Sunday morning service 10:30-11:30a.m.
